2014/04/17 To commemorate the first flight of the de Havilland DH.89A Dragon Rapide on 17 April 1934, a flypast by a de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth, ZS-OVW, and DHC-1 Chipmunk, ZS-URC, was held at Border Aviation Club, East London Airport, on 17 April 2014. The two aircraft flew overhead DH.89A Rapide, ZS-JGV, which is currently undergoing restoration to flying condition. The Rapide is part of the Historic Wings Collection.

2011/10/26 The 26th of October 1931 marked the first flight of the de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth. To celebrate the 80th Anniversary a formation flight of four DH.82A Tiger Moths took a short leisurley flip along the South East Coast of South Africa on 26 October 2011. The event was hosted by 43 Air School based at Port Alfred Airport.
2011/09/25 The 1st airmail delivery in South Africa took place on the 27th of December 1911. To mark the 100th anniversary of this historic event three de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth aircraft flew from Kenilworth to Muizenberg.
2011/04/14 From the 14th of April to the 1st of May 2011, a group of seven vintage de Havilland Biplanes ventured across Botswana on a once-in-a-lifetime airborne safari.

The route was from Polokwane in South Africa to the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Leaving Gweta, we flew to the inland oasis that is the Okavango Delta and then the lush riverine forest of Chobe. A few days in Livingstone, Zambia, overhead the spectacular Victoria Falls followed and then we headed back home.

Participants came from all over the world, South Africa, Botswana, Europe and Australia. They flew their own Tiger Moths, Fox Moths and support aircraft.
2010/09/12 The 100th Anniversary of the first successful test flight of a de Havilland aircraft by Geoffrey de Havilland took place on 10 September 1910. Several de Havilland Aircraft gathered at Baragwanath Airfield on 12 September 2010 to celebrate the centenary.
2010/09/11 The 100th Anniversary of the first successful test flight of a de Havilland aircraft by Geoffrey de Havilland took place on 10 September 1910. Three de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moths and one DHC-1 Chipmunk flew around Stellenbosch Airfield to celebrate the centenary.
2006 08 09 The 75th anniversary of the Tiger Moth was celebrated at Swartkop Air Force Base on Wednesday 9 August 2006.

1996 03 The Africa Tiger Moth Safari March/April 1996. An epic journey by 4 de Havilland DH82As to Botswana in 1996. DVD available.
1985/08/17-18 Christie's International Vintage Aerobatic Championship Finals, Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom 17th to 18th of August 1985. South Africa's Brian Zeederberg won the event.
1971 Opening of Westonaria West Field Airpark in 1971. Possibly biggest gathering of Tiger Moths
